We are seeking a talented communications generalist to join the Club in crafting clear, engaging, and informative content across our e-newsletters, digital publications, and communication channels. In this role, you’ll keep our members informed, inspired, and connected through high-quality storytelling that celebrates our people, sport, events, and the unique experiences that define Royal Sydney.
Working closely with our Communications & Marketing Manager, this role plays a key part in planning and delivering engaging communications across multiple member groups. With a strong sense of ownership, you’ll lead the creation of editorial content while collaborating with our Communications team to bring campaigns to lifeâcoordinating visual and digital assets and contributing to long-term projects and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging written content across the Club’s communications channels including e-newsletters, digital publications, notices and website updates.
- Craft informative, celebratory and human-centred stories that showcase Club sport, events, member achievements and community initiatives.
- Translate operational updates and Club information into clear, engaging communications tailored to different member segments.
- Contribute to the development and management of the communications editorial calendar.
- Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to help plan and the implement the Club’s longer-term, strategic communications covering all areas of Royal Sydney’s operations.
- Ensure the Club’s brand identity and written style is consistent.
- Oversee continuous improvement to the Club’s communications by analysing communications performance and audience trends.
- Support the Communications and Marketing Manager in liaising with external stakeholders, such as media and community representatives.
- You will also play a key role in collaborating on the delivery of the staff communications strategy.
About You
- Proven experience in communications, journalism, marketing or content development roles.
- Exceptional writing and editorial skills with the ability to produce engaging and polished content across a broad range of topics.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple publications and deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to gather information and translate it into compelling communications.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Experience working with digital communications platforms including e-newsletter systems, social media planning, websites or content management systems.
- Understanding of brand tone, style and consistency across communications.
- Experience producing communications for membership organisations, hospitality, sport or lifestyle brands is desirable but not essential.
