The Royal Sydney Golf Club, a private members club, is fortunate to be considered one of Australia’s most prominent social and sporting institutions, having proudly hosted a number of world class sporting events including the Australian Open on 15 occasions and the 2011 Davis Cup. It is recognised nationally and internationally for its world class sporting facilities which include two golf courses, 18 tennis courts, bowling greens, croquet lawns, squash courts, snooker tables, a gym, swimming pools, cafes, club bar, a dining room, 18 accommodation rooms and multiple function rooms.
The Role
Working in our Fine Dining Restaurant and Club Bar you will be responsible for providing professional and outstanding service to members and guests whilst maintaining "Five Star" standards at all times.
This is a part-time role requiring availability to work between 20-30 hours a week and requires flexibility to work during the week including evenings as well as on weekends and public holidays. Shifts can range from 11am/12pm starts up to 10:30pm evening finishes.
Main responsibilities of this role include:
- Ensure immediate, effective and efficient service to members, greet members, ascertain what each member wants or needs and maintain a high level of professionalism working to establish positive rapport with every member
- Delivering food and drink orders to tables when ready, following 3 plate carry protocol for meals
- Ensure all orders are entered / given to Kitchen staff accurately
- Clean and polish cutlery
- Replenish food and beverage amenities
- Operate POS register and effectively handle cash as required
- Keep your service area clean, tidy, and well-prepared ensuring empty glasses, plates and cutlery are removed, wiping down tables and more
- Making cocktails, mixed drinks, coffees
- Cleaning of bar area, bar open and close procedures
- In-house ordering/restocking
Essential requirements
- Proven success in a Food and Beverage role in a similar setting.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Passion for the hospitality industry.
- Motivated to learn new skills and techniques.
- Friendly, positive, energetic disposition.
- Exceptional presentation and grooming standards
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous food hygiene experience.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask during peak periods.
- Ability to look after a section of 25 (3 plate carry and wine pour).
- Basic knowledge of beverages including wines, spirits and beer.
- Current NSW RSA Certificate.
- Working rights in Australia.
