Reporting to the Finance Manager and Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of general accounting duties and finance administrative tasks to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the club’s daily financial activities within the Finance team.
This is an entry-level finance professional role that will support the senior accountant and other members of the finance teams with routine accounting tasks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. The role will help ensure financial data is accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
- Support the maintenance of the stock system and assist with periodic stocktakes.
- Ensure monthly financial reporting is accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide support across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Respond to member account enquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner.
- Accurately process payments, refunds, and activity charges to member accounts.
- Support account reconciliations, direct debits, invoicing, and internal charge processes.
- Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
- Perform data entry and maintain accuracy within accounting systems.
- Maintain organised financial records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Provide administrative support and operational backup for the finance team as required.
- Assist senior finance staff with budgeting activities and financial analysis.
Key requirements:
- Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Up to 2 years of experience in accounting or finance (including internships or graduate roles).
- Currently pursuing, or intending to commence, a professional qualification such as CPA or CA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Well-organised, proactive, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude, with a strong willingness to learn and take initiative.
